Bingo!

Imagine, for a moment, gentle reader that you could predict the future.

I believe it would be plausible that you could foresee a time when the current US President launched an operation against the Iran Government. Also not implausible to think that this action would be in partnership with Israel. A stretch of belief is that Pakistan would have provided the initial cover for the operation, providing a distraction for the Israelis to begin the war with a catastrophic attack on the Iranian leadership.

Some of the current political wins may have been a little more challenging to prognosticate some years ago. New York City being run by a Marxist Islamist mayor was certainly not on my bingo card. Nor was the resurgence of the Liberal Party in Canada. That Mark Carney would be so thoroughly embraced by the baby boomer women of this country was somewhat surprising. Even more surprising was the ability of the media and the left to manufacture this hatred for conservatism based on the belief that all conservatives bow to Donald Trump.

The ongoing denigration of the US President is no surprise. And the more success he has implementing his policies the greater the rhetoric against him. Particularly here in Canada, the level of Trump Derangement Syndrome is off the charts with seniors changing their entire lifestyles due to this hatred. Thankfully my wife has not yet totally succumbed to this phenomena although there is a level of it in our household. Let us call it the ostrich syndrome, which many women have adopted, specifically, do not tell me what is going on and I will just carry on as if nothing has happened.

The status of Canada’s infrastructure improvements could assuredly have been predicted once Carney became PM. No change but a significant amount of talk. No new pipelines, no new mines, no new roads to the Ontario north, no new energy projects slated for the gas fields in Quebec. That we still have an industrial carbon tax and that the great carbon capture project in Alberta is still a thing also is of no great surprise.

An appeal to the Supreme Court of Canada at the last second regarding the wrist slap of the Federal Government’s implementation of the War Measures Act or whatever pretty name you want to give the taking of citizens rights bill is called. Carney wants to make sure the government has the widest possible leeway to take our liberty when they feel public pressure against their decisions is rising. The Supreme Court has also agreed to hear a case against the governments firearms ban.

Given the makeup of the Court and the statements of the Chief Justice around the protest in Ottawa that brought about the Government’s declaration of an Emergency and implemented the Emergencies Act it would seem this appeal from the Government will be upheld and our liberty will be further eroded. It is also a stretch for me to believe the Court agreed to hear the firearms ban case with the intention of striking the ban.

So once again our courts will create new ways for the Government to subvert the freedom of the Canadian people. While taking away our rights to own firearms for our own purposes. Sure, there are some unstable people who use guns for mass shootings. There are way more people who use guns in the commission of crimes. Most of these guns are handguns and illegal. Why not spend some time going after the criminals making life more dangerous?

And speaking of more dangerous, would anybody have guessed only a few years ago the a Premier of a province would be cheering on a homeowner who shot a criminal trying to break into their home? This is an incredible one that I am sure no one could have foreseen. Should have shot him a few more times, was the best part of the statement. The response to the Premier from the NDP opposition leader was typical, decrying his statements as inflammatory and dangerous. Damn straight, dangerous to the criminals trying to break into houses.

It is like the Florida Sheriff a couple years ago encouraging criminals to head onto defended property, it will save us the expense of finding you and putting you in jail. Because you will be dead. If th courts are going to provide more and more leniency to the criminals someone has to take up the slack. People need to feel safe, either the government provides that through the order part of their mandate or the people will do it themselves.

For one minute can you imaging that the action in Iran would need to be taking place if the populace was armed? There would have been no 30,000 dead protestors if they came armed to the protest. Nor would Cuba continue to be the communist hell hole that it is if the population could defend themselves against the government. Yes Joe, we know that the government has F15s, and a few AR15s will not counter that, but AR15s or AK47s in the hands of the common folks of the land make the police forces think twice about subverting dissent.

All around us now in Canada are the signs of a civilized nation coming apart. It is not about the infrastructure or lack of a serious military that I am referring to. It is the general disregard for the safety of others. Not standing up for the Jewish child in fear of going to school because of the bullying. Or fear of going to worship because there are bullet holes in the front doors. That our government always seems to qualify their rhetoric regarding the anti jewish actions happening by putting some context of islahmaphobia into the conversation is total abdication of the role of a government.

Lastly there should be great concern if you are a property owner in Canada given the latest court decisions in BC and the feds own directions regarding indigenous land claims. At what point will all our home be given back to the Tribes that had the land ‘stolen’ from them by the colonial invaders? Toronto opens their council meeting talking of being on the unseeded land of something or other. When do they stand up and claim it back with the blessing of the courts and the federal government?

Anyone have that on your 2027 bingo card?
